Kitchener stitch is a method of grafting two sets of live stitches together in knitting with a darning. It’s easy, but I do it so infrequently, I always forget the method. Here’s a simple reminder of the steps.
Set up
- Insert on front as if to purl. Leave stitch on needle.
- Insert on back as if to knit. Leave stitch on needle.
Now repeat this
- Insert on front as if to knit. Remove stitch from needle.

Finish
Gently pull through and weave in.
